Otera has won the AI Pioneer category at the 2026 insureNXT Innovators Award in Cologne.
The award, hosted by Koelnmesse and InsurLab Germany, is the industry's annual recognition for products and services that can reshape insurance over the long term, and this year's edition focused (for the first time) on AI.
The jury, drawn from across insurance, tech, and academia, picked six finalists from a competitive field judged on innovation, scalability, customer value, and contribution to transforming industries. Otera was recognized for Agentic Claims Transformation: Global Automation of Claims Processing.
The insureNXT Innovators Award is an annual award for particularly innovative products, services, business models and projects that can change the insurance industry in the long term.
The work behind the recognition
Otera's claims transformation work runs in production across some of the largest insurance and claims operations in Europe, replacing manual adjudication with autonomous agents that decide and act end-to-end.
CED, a top European claims handling group, now processes 600,000 incoming emails a year in seconds, driving 80% straight-through processing and clearing its backlog entirely. As CEO François Goffinet has put it, this same system could handle 6 million emails the same way.
For Otera's customers, this recognition confirms what they're already seeing every day: autonomous agents are reshaping how regulated work gets done.
